Hope In the Dark

Faith can be challenging at times.  Doubts assail us at the moment we need God most. We question His righteousness at times when we are desperate for His grace and mercy. To question is human. To doubt God is the thing we must never ever allow. He is. He can. He will. He has already done. This is where we camp.

Yes, God, yes. We stand. We listen. We love Your wisdom and Your voice. In all things we know You care and You are near. Thank you, God, for this day and all it brings to our lives and our hopes!

God does speak to us. Through other’s words, through dreams, and often through reminders as we meditate or pray. A name, a revelation, a thought of something He wants us to do. Obedience increases these words from God. Be aware He wants to communicate. His love is a balm and a comfort.

Waiting is strengthening. We wait in hope. Our faith gets pummeled but it develops consistency. Patience is a fruit of the Spirit, but it must be developed. We wait in hope, we pray, we build expectation and in the end we rejoice as more fully developed Christians.

Moving forward, in faith, to a goal we cannot yet see, is where faith is found, tested and rewarded. We trust a Word that has endured thousands of years. We follow a man who is the Son of God and His exploits lead millions toward Heaven. All we have seen and read and heard is enough to cause us to lean into challenges, trusting God, without a second thought of failure.

Father God, Thank You for being a God who never changes.  It is a joy to serve You.  Your promises are indeed Yes and Amen and we can rest in Your tender care. You are a mighty God.  We sleep in peace, trusting You and knowing Your promises will always be fulfilled!

And his name will be the hope of all the world.”  Matthew 12:21
