Living Loved
There is no way to over sell the blessings that come from a life habit of prayer and communication with God. The blessings are endless, the peace fulfilling and the life confidence life changing.
In my younger years, I held God responsible for all sorrow and problems. I assumed He did not love me. Maturity changes everything. I bear a responsibility I never considered when I was young. Do I forgive? Do I refuse to succumb to offense, no matter what? Only as I do my part can God, in righteousness, do His.
Thank God for the analogy that God loves us as we love our own children. Then God reminds us to love others, all others, as we love ourselves. God’s love is unconditional. When He disciplines us to help us grow in maturity, we praise Him for the lesson and we thank Him for His love.
Earthly parents are human. They make mistakes. They have emotions. They can fall short, fulfilling all our needs when they are young. If we blame them, if we focus on that failure, we give ourselves license to fall short in life and potential. Love them. Embrace their humanity and forgive any debt they owe. Our forgiveness frees us to live our full potential as well as it pleases God that we are obeying His commands.
To comprehend God’s incredible love and good will for us, His grace, we must look into the depth of the sacrifice Jesus made. He was all in. He knew He had to suffer and die to initiate our Salvation. Yes, He knew He would rise and go to Heaven, but He still had to agree to the crucifixion. God, let me never forget that incredible sacrifice. Let me never forget You are on my side at all times.
Dear Lord, You are a lifeline and a love line. I treasure our relationship and I love Your wisdom. I live a life where I intentionally control my emotions, where I choose to love others as I love myself, and where I share You to those who ask me why I am different. I see the emotional battles in families where no one prays or asks You how to live their best life. I thank you for wrapping my motives in love, for teaching me the immense value of a peaceful and calm existence, and the joy of sacrificial choices.
Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Hebrews 6:11
