Praying

I enjoy prayer.  I remember when I first vowed to pray daily.  I wondered what God and I would talk about.  I wondered if I would be bored.  I wondered if He would get bored.  I shouldn’t have worried.  Our talks are easy.  Intentional.  I use a list to avoid forgetting promised prayers or important issues. Some days I just pray for the list. There are other days, special days, when I catch fire or maybe God catches fire in me. Then I am feeling empathy, compassion, or hunger for the world. I feel God. I hear prompts from Him, people to see or call. Prayer is often a two-way encounter and it can be spectacular!

No prayer, no plea, is too great or small to take to God. He loves us as we love our children. So if something matters to us, He cares. A strong prayer life brings us into God’s presence and into His heart. He does not want us to reach out to Him only in crisis or emergency. He wants to connect with us every day in every way. He wants our time and our fellowship.  It is in God we trust and feel safe. He is indeed ABBA! FATHER!

A disciplined and intentional prayer life leads to increased intimacy with the Father and it makes following Jesus easier. We cannot be in a relationship with God if we only go to Him in a crisis. He is a daily Friend, a true Father and His closeness to us relies on our obedience. Talk to Him daily and watch your life change and improve

Understanding the power of prayer is imperative. God can move mountains and alter science. He is the Great I Am. He expects us to honor His power and strength through faith and prayers. We serve a mighty God.

Lord God, thank You for prayer.  Thank You for designing a life of communication with each of Your children.  Conversations.  Opinions.  Questions.  Spending time with You, understanding Your heart, and finally experiencing unconditional love.  You heal our hearts where there is enmity or confusion with our biological fathers.  You show us what they went through so we can better understand the areas where they struggled.  Because of Your love, we learn to exhibit grace and forgiveness. 

Have the Attitude of Christ

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?  Philippians 2:1
