Daily Power

I often get inspiration to write about our challenging times. I particularly enjoy writing for women and hope to eventually focus on those issues.  I like to start every day committing my resources, talent and writing to God. When we start the day correctly we are much more likely to follow God’s heart throughout the day.

Starting the day in prayer helps us to be touched with God’s will.  He sees the whole picture and His will is preeminent. We must always be willing to say, “Your will, Lord. Not mine.”  Love of family and intentional prayer for others ignites peace and gratitude every day.

When we stay focused on God, His call and purpose for our lives, we are always less tempted by the things the world dangles in front of us. The world wants us to be programmed, to join the school of lemmings as they race mindlessly to this fad or the next. God leads us more gently. But if we don't learn to hear and know His voice, the lemmings will continue to call.  Spiritual pollution is sneaky and intended. Stay vigilant. Stay armored

Once we begin to see ourselves as God sees us, we will have an easier walk with Him. We are too critical of ourselves AND we too often accept others’ opinions of us as more important than God’s opinion. It is safe to love Him because He teaches us how to see ourselves the way He sees us.

God is saying, “Never give up! Have I ever failed you?” And He hasn’t. Not ever. So why would He now? He wouldn’t. Our job is faith. His job is miracles. And love. So much love.

It is a blessing to listen to the Lord. He puts people on our hearts. He lets us see those who need a kind word or a spoken acknowledgment. I have often asked God to show me someone who needs a smile, extra groceries or a word of encouragement. For me it seems the most faithful way to listen is to send cards, make a phone call or just invite someone to go to lunch. The more we listen and obey, the clearer His voice becomes.

Father God, Thank You for all the mornings we have spent together.  Starting the day hearing Your voice and feeling Your love is empowering.  I am reminded before I head out into the world, just how much You love me.  Help me remember as I meet others, I am equipped by You to be a world changer.
