God’s Word is filled with innumerable promises, overwhelming us with confidence as we study it. He loves us. Dearly and deeply. Most of us recognize that sense of acceptance and unconditional love. We felt it first with our biological parents. We understand relationships. God loves us, has our backs at all times, and never fails to keep the promises He made. He has equipped us for our walk with Him. We can attain every level of faith He requires.
Faith verifies His reality. He is in every breath we take, every sunrise and sunset, and He moves within all creation. We learn His voice and His promptings. Living in God’s will, obeying the words He set down in the Bible, is a sure way to receive blessings and fulfill our obligations to God.
We live in a loud world. One we can see, almost have to see. But God’s world is spiritual. We feel it. We feel His Presence, His power and His Goodness. In the Old Testament, we saw how people had to follow the law, the sacrifices, the legalese of so many rules. They learned to perform correct ceremonies, but they were not obedient in their hearts. Eventually God came up with a new Covenant when He sent Jesus to earth, covenant we feel and surrender to out of true devotion. God’s promises exude His immense love.
Heavenly Father, your love takes our breath away. You are a second chance Father, willing to forgive us, throw our sins into the sea of forgetfulness, and give us a brand-new start. Your promises fill us with faith; we move in obedience toward Your will in our lives. Thank You for love that included us in all Your plans. Help us obey Your call and move intentionally in Your direction every day.
For as many as the promises of God are, in Him they are yes; therefore through Him also is our Amen to the glory of God through us. 2 Corinthians 1:20
