Attitude of Gratitude

God’s grace is the greatest gift any of us will ever receive. No amount of gratitude could ever be enough. Be grateful, but also stay focused on God, the Word, and on Jesus. When we relate to others using biblical wisdom it is pretty easy to be loving and forgiving. One of the most powerful teachings on this topic is the story of the debtor who had a huge debt forgiven and then refused to show grace to someone who owed him money. In the Lord’s Prayer, we ask God to forgive our mistakes (sin) in the same way we forgive others (and their sin). In the above story of the unloving debtor, his debt was reinstated and he lost everything.

In all things give thanks. In the tough times and the good times. When there is plenty and when there is want. In the end, we understand God works in unique ways. There is as much to be learned in want as there is in plenty.

These are not easy times to go out and talk about Jesus. Jesus is out of fashion! How dangerously foolish! And yet, in this current culture, Jesus is exactly who people need to find. In spite of the risk, in spite of our trepidation, we need to speak about Jesus everywhere we go. Jesus gave His life so we could be forgiven and free to tell the world about Him.

Sometimes it is good to ask God for a renewing of the Holy Spirit within us, renewing that surge of love, that familiarity, allowing His incredible goodness to ignite within us. It is too easy to ignore His loving presence within us, to not feel those soft words of correction and direction where He leads us flawlessly toward our God-given destiny.

I have always been blessed to hear from God during Praise and Worship. That is how and when I got the recipe for Ice Chips. I was simply praising God when I heard and saw the exact way to make that healthy candy. God does speak to us.

I believe if we were to journal all the small and large blessings God gives us constantly, we would be amazed. What some call luck or personal conquests are usually the blessings of a loving God.

My Lord, How can I ever repay Your goodness. To know my sins are forgiven, and to know you love me and hold no transgression against me, if I truly repent, is life altering, I need to tell Your story every chance I get. Sometimes I imagine someone lost and alone deep in a forest and I long to find that person and tell them all the wonders You did and the wisdom that You shared. Thank you, dear Lord, for my Salvatin. Help me to reach every person who is still lost.

How shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. Hebrews 2:3
