Trusting God Through Trials

In all circumstances, trust God. There is no fear, no depression, no poverty, no abuse that can cancel our amazing Protector’s hand. We are not alone. We walk beside our great and mighty God and He holds our hand. Ever present, ever loving, His promises are true.

Studying the Word is a lot like physical exercise. In the consistent immersion in scripture, we build muscle and wisdom and over a period of time we change greatly. Like muscle, it builds slowly. Looking back after a few months or years we are astonished how much change God has wrought.

Our arrogance dogs us. We make plans. We make decisions. We make vows and promises. Yet our fulfillment of these things depends on God’s grace that we will be here to keep our word. Each day, it would be better to wake up and ask God what He has planned for our day, what He wants us to say or do. Better to move slowly inside the will of God than to forge carelessly ahead on our own.

We all face harrowing moments in life. Health scares, audits, losses of loved ones and more. Emotions can dominate, causing rage, fear, cursing. Far better to go to God. Thank Him for the thousands of non traumatic days, for unlimited blessings and thank Him that bad seasons and moments end and we will walk again in peace and love.

When troubles come, and they will come, do not start thinking you are finished. Turn to God. Always turn to God. His love and His promises will calm and comfort you and you will remember you are His beloved.  When we learn to leave all the control to God, we achieve His favor. We are not meant to control our circumstance without first asking God for wisdom in our choices. When discipline comes from God it is never without purpose.

Dear God, here I am again, confessing the same things I’ve confessed before, repenting for a willful spirit that ran ahead of You yet again.  A hundred prayers I said in the dark of night, scary nights as thoughts of doom and gloom stomped up and down on my faith.  I know about trials.  In the bright sunshine all I can taste and feel is that You are a good good God.  Your miracles stand lined to perfection in my memories.  But in this darkness, I allow my focus to falter. And the enemy leaps around in utter joy as I forget for a moment that You are my Father and my friend.  And hen You move!  He flees.  And I remember whose Child I am.  Thank you forever.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33
