Kingdom Come

It is simple to see ourselves through God’s eyes. Just read what He says about us in the Word.  It’s also difficult.  Listen to what others say about God.  Listen to the lure of the world and how it promises to love us better than God!  God is Spirit. Sometimes we allow His loving truth about us to be drowned out by the world’s critical assessment of how we look, how we perform, and how we measure up! Keep it simple. Focus on God’s opinion. Ignore the world!

He gives us forgiveness.  Fresh starts. When we truly repent, when we recognize out rebellion, our willfulness, and our wayward behavior that breaks His heart, we weep for the pain we have caused Him. True repentance creates turnaround behavior. If it doesn’t, we just made fake promises to God and we were not repentant at all.

To be adopted, especially by God, is an extreme honor. Many adoptees worry about why they were abandoned instead of why they were chosen! Let us not look backward but forward! The God of the Universe loved us so greatly He grafted us into His tree of life. He came after us. Pursued us. He reached out His hand and called us to His side, His children forever.

There is nothing in our worldly lives, nothing in our environment or circumstance, that would be worthy of losing our souls, our eternity and our Salvation for.  Just trust God! Follow Him. Listen for His prompting. Listen for that next step Ha has planned for you. Turning away on our own path sounds okay, even good. Especially when we believe we are being obedient to God’s wishes.  Rarely is this a good choice.

Every time we try to manipulate God through our weeping or our cries that He isn’t fair, we should fall to our knees in humility and repentance. God is so good. So gracious. His forgiveness plays out in our lives every day. To fall short of that level of grace, should make us weep in remorse.

I have established good spiritual habits with Bible reading, Bible studies and great lesson sessions. Where I falter and need work is the discipline of writing, even those projects I feel certain God has asked me to perform.  I learned long ago that fear of God is better translated as respect for God. Our friendship with Him should never trump our reverence and awe. He is God! Creator of the universe. He loves us. Worship Him and be grateful for His immense love for us.  Thank Him daily for showing us how beautiful we are in His sight.

Father, Thank You for a love so great I cannot measure it or reflect it.  Thank You for showing me a version of myself that inspires me to do my life better.  Help me, Lord, to strive for excellence in all I do for You.  Help me to work well with others, and even though I know my ideas are God-inspired, let me listen, cooperate and strive for harmony.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew youbefore you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”  Jeremiah 1:5
