Words

Gratitude ignites a great attitude. When we find joy, even in our trials, we open ourselves to friendship with God, a friendship that thrives in all circumstances.  It is in the grace of learning to ask for help we discover God’s love and mercy and we can use that wisdom to lead others through their own struggles

Prayer time is wisdom.  If we use it to make an excuse and we have no intention of using the redeemed time in relationship with God we have just created a dreadful new sin habit that will take us down a dangerous path. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Never use God as an excuse to reject your own destiny.  No procrastination. While I am prone to procrastinate, when a new day rolls around, I need to jump at the opportunity to serve God and obey His will!

Praise God for His grace in sending Jesus. The Old Testament law made entering Heaven close to impossible. Jesus, dying on the cross for our sins, released us from the old laws. We must still adhere to the Ten Commandments, but when we fail, God has provided restoration. Listen to the Holy Spirit and stay armed by the Word of God.

It is a sad reality that once we get old, we understand this wisdom regarding enough. In fact we view our belongings as too much. We long to downsize to scarcity. Peace dwells in this place.

Feel free to go to God often. See His will. Ask His direction. Do not try to force life to move on your behalf. Always follow the heart and desires of God.

Lord Jesus, I am sorry for the times I have wanted my own way, that I have repeatedly begged for favor and to have my prayers answered on the timeline I most clearly understand.  There is so much to see, to hear, to understand about Kingdom living.  Help me, Jesus, to slow down, hear Your will, and to desire pleasing You more than having objects that no longer seem as wonderful once I have them.  I am so sorry for the times I have fallen under the spell of things that have no true value in Your system.  Help me see through the glitter and value the glory.

Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.  Matthew 13:44
