We know the Lord set standards and conditions for our Salvation. It was never meant to be easy. We are expected to do things; we have functions to perform. When we stay focused, when we pray and seek God’s heart in a matter, we discover God’s tender mercies and His willingness to present new revelation. Repent, go and sin no more, He is continually protecting us.
God is the same yesterday, today and forever, so He still gives us healing and revelation. His care and mercy, our asking and our faith all work together for good.
It is interesting to see as Jesus’ time grew short, the enemies and religious leaders grew more upset and threatened. They stopped caring about truth and began to worship authority and position outright. As much as we know the tender love and heart of Jesus, we must accept He also has righteous anger. His expectations and standards are high. There is an end to His tolerance.
We bask in our Lord’s love and we gravitate to that. But there is another side and an expectation. We are not to simply soak up our Lord’s gentle and compassionate side. No. We are to walk as He walked, hold a high standard and, indeed, operate as His hands and His feet as we wait upon His triumphant return!
Father, We require so much focus to finish the race fir Jesus. “You long to tell us, ‘”Well done, good and faithful, servant.’” Obedience, focus, discipline and persistence are all tools we use to reach the finish line. Until every hymn has its final note, every story its happy ending, every painting its most glorious detail, we do not write ‘the end.’ We wait. For Your approval. Your stamp of excellence. Thank You, Lord, for completed design.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6
