We all have seasons where God seems distant. We still pray. We read the Word. But the connection just feels a little off. I remember hearing long ago that when that happens, God is not the one who moved. The disconnect can be caused by many things. Delayed answers to prayer. Heavy work or study schedules that keep your prayer time at a minimum. Once we become aware God isn’t responding, we fear we have disappointed or angered Him.

It’s just a season. He is right beside us. Pray! Prayer brings us close to God. Thank Him for all the things that are still wonderful. Families. Finances. Job. When we reach out to Him every day we connect as His children. Families need nurturing. Can you imagine not connecting to children or parents for weeks on end? The bond of love would be challenged because of neglect.

Touch God. Love Him. Sing and speak and relate to Him. He is the kind Father you longed for, the loving parent your soul seeks. He chooses those who choose Him.

God, Here I am! I have missed You. I have missed our singing, the times we talk and I long to hear Your voice. I am sorry I thought You were mad at me. This morning I looked in the mirror and for one quick moment I saw myself through Your eyes. You smiled and I felt Your love touch me. Thank You, God. Your love is such a gift, such a blessing. I love You, Father, and being in Your presence is all I ever need.

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan. Romans 8:28
