Our true worth is often reflected from God’s eyes. He created us with our talents and an ability to love and change the world. Measuring our value against other’s gifts and talents is a sure way to cheapen ourselves and make our earthly journey even more difficult. We are perfect in God’s eyes, growing and learning but perfect. We should never argue with Him about that.
People waste a lot of time trying to impress others and even to masquerade as someone they are not. We are all a bit in awe when we see people who are comfortable in their own skin, people who are natural and free in their words and movements. Over thinking before we speak, choosing not to give an opinion because it might be judged, refusing to participate in organizations, are all indicators of insecurity and self-doubt. Time spent worrying becomes wasted talent and eventually becomes an unfulfilled call, Even when we meet someone who shares similar gifts, it will be expressed in a unique and different way. Life experiences are lessons and those lessons become the platform from which we reach others.
Dear God, help me to appreciate myself exactly as You made me. Help me accept my life challenges as the lessons and opportunities they are. Show me the way I can use those life victories as stepping stones to helping others. God, I long to be useful as we get ever closer to the end times. I pray my gratitude keeps me humble and useful. I know the varied gifts within the Body of Christ work together to create a well rounded culture within the church that can meet the needs of everyone You bring into our fold. Thank you, God, for varied talents, unique gifts, and well thought out results.
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 1 Corinthians 12:4
