God, Where are You?
Dry seasons can be frightening. Until we realize they are where the treasures are hidden. Such times force us to dig. To call out. God is close to new Believers. Once He begins to grow and teach us, we can become fearful He has moved on without us. We run after Him. Searching. Until suddenly we feel His strong hand on our shoulder. He breathes His promises and His will into us afresh and new. He was there all the time.
God loves to bless, grow and develop us. To that end, He occasionally allows challenges. They are never meant as punishment. We should keep a righteous, hungry attitude and the lesson will be learned more swiftly. God allows hardships and tough lessons so we can develop into people who bring value to the Body of Christ.
Purity of purpose is almost never achieved without struggle and sacrifice. Can you imagine a life where nothing at all is required of us? Where we are simply gifted with wisdom, knowledge and perfection? It should be absolute joy when God gives us a new task. It means, hard as it might have been, we just passed our last test. To view each growth level as a privilege and never as punishment is the mark of an armored, developing Christian!
I don’t mind the challenges. In fact, because I have enjoyed many active seasons, I think another challenge could be on my horizon. If we’re alive and growing, there are always more lessons. I am hungry for more. Sometimes my hunger can outrun my readiness. I must slow down, steep in all I’ve been shown and then I’ll be prepared to run with God to the next level.
Dear Lord, I often breathe hard trying to keep up with you. I love living life as Your child. I love exploring new tasks, writing new works, and finding all he places You want me to go. I thank You for never leaving me, for always keeping every promise you’ve made, and for holding the whole world in Your hands. Kingdom living is ever rewarding. Never dull. Always exciting. Thank You for including me in Your plans.
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11
