Seen. Chosen. Sent

Imagine being in a large rambunctious family, each member loved, provided for, and offered education and promotion. You would welcome new members, excited for them to partake of the goodness of family. That is the situation we have in the Body of Christ. Never feel ashamed to offer the story of Jesus and His Love. How awful it would be to reach Heaven, look around and see the people you were chosen to witness to, the people Jesus Himself entrusted to your care, and you failed to speak Jesus to them because they might be offended. Even in Heaven, in such a situation, I imagine we would feel great heartbreak.

I am grateful for every person who prayed for me to find Salvation. Starting with my Great Grandmother Sarah McNutt who prayed without ceasing that I would surrender to the Lord. For Janice Stubblefield who led me so close! These many people, some I knew were praying and some I did not, are a part of my great cloud of witnesses. They convict me to remember and to witness to those God has called to my attention.

I preach from scripture all the time in my writing. I am convinced these are testing times, struggle times, even the end times. If we refuse to offer water to the thirsty, food to the hungry and Salvation to the lost, how can we stand in front of Jesus when it’s time to face Him, and not be able to tell Him we truly did follow His example and we did all we could do to see His beloved people Saved?

We are assuredly called to carry Jesus to the world. We can rationalize. We can procrastinate. It changes nothing. Allow the great fear of Christ’s grief to wash over you. Imagine His pain when He knows you chose to do other things with your time and you left witnessing to others to others

I often hide behind my writing. Thinking that is my gift and I am to harvest through my written words. But I doubt God makes it that easy for me. I surrender now to doing what He calls me to do even if I have to leave my house.

My dear God, I am sorry for my pusillanimous witnessing. My personal zeal, when I am praying, would have me running up to strangers on the streets, pulling on their jackets, saying, “Run! Follow me! I have good news. Jesus died for your sins. He has assured you a seat at the Bridal Feast in Heaven!” Lord, help me run to these lot souls. Lead me to overcome any fear of rejection. I don’t care. Let them yell at me, mock me, and turn me away. And in the end, Lord, let them listen. When I am seated at that Feast let me see their name tag at the place next to mine. Thank You, God.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2
