Divine Direction
One of my daily prayer tasks is putting on the Whole Armor of God. This world is a great place to wear armor. The reason our biblical armor is on the front is because God has our back.
I grew up hearing, “Confession is good for the soul.” Indeed, it is. What we hide from others, secret sins, guilt or negative thinking, poisons us as surely as strychnine. Revealing our struggles brings help and support. Ask God for strength but make an effort to change. We cannot repent what we refuse to acknowledge.
Staying focused on our walk with God helps. Giving up is easy. However, it develops a life pattern that is obvious to others and sets low expectations. Know that God does not call us to a place where He has not prepared us to succeed.
Pursuing God’s best, a divine dream or a change in direction, requires an active faith. A willingness to LEAVE & GO regardless of how drastic the change & uncomfortable it makes us feel. Weighing the blessings of making the move versus going against God’s prompting motivates us toward change. It is a huge benefit in our Christian walk once we get past serving ourselves and begin to serve others. Our gifts and our calling are meant to be used in Kingdom living.
Once we are committed to serving God it is imperative to associate and learn from other Christians. We still go out into the world to reach others but the things we learn in fellowship arm and prepare us. I cannot imagine life in these troubling times without an unshakable faith. No matter what, God is in the boat with us. Get out. Walk on the water. Our job is to walk fearlessly through this world, knowing He is with us.
Lord God, I want to walk on the water with You. There are so many people who need to hear about Jesus, so many stories waiting to be told. I have no one to fear, Father. I walk beside You. I wear the belt of Truth, the breastplate of Righteousness, and the shoes of the Gospel of Peace. Lord, I hold aloft the shield of Faith and I put on the helmet of Salvation. Lastly, Lord, I wield the Sword of the Spirit which is Your Word. Help me remember at all times I am Your child.
The Armor of God
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ...
