Abba Father! Such joy. Such comfort. No prayer, no plea, is too great or small to take to God. He loves us as we love our children. So if something matters to us, He cares. A strong prayer life brings us into God’s presence and His heart. He does not want us to reach out to Him only in crisis or emergency. He wants us to talk to Him every day in every way. He wants our time and our fellowship.
A disciplined and intentional prayer life leads to more intimacy with the Father and makes our goal of following Jesus easier. We cannot be in a relationship with God if we only go to Him when we’re in trouble. He is a daily Friend, a true Father and His closeness to us relies on our obedience. Talk to Him every day and watch your life change and improve
There is no way to over sell the blessings cultivated with a habit of prayer and communication with God. Understanding the power of prayer is imperative. God can truly move mountains and alter science. He is the Great I Am. He expects us to honor His power and strength through faith and prayers. We serve a mighty God. In my youth and younger years, I held God responsible for all sorrow and problems. When things didn’t go as I wanted, I assumed He did not love me. Maturity changes everything. I bear a responsibility I never considered when I was young. Do I forgive? Do I refuse offense no matter what? Only as I do my part can God, in righteousness, do His.
There is an enemy in this world who seeks to make us question this beautiful promise and explanation. Do not doubt. Simply trust this gift. Do not question and seek to be wiser than the Promise.
Thank God for the analogy that God loves us as we love our own children. That is a poster we can hang on our heart. It is the answer. The way to understand. And then God tells us to love others, all others, as we love ourselves. And it is crystal clear. God’s love is unconditional. Should God discipline us in order to help us grow in emotional maturity, we praise Him for the lesson, and we thank Him for His love.
Lord God, Thank You for allowing me to walk beside You, to know Your heart and to feel Your incredible love. Your wisdom and Your mentoring lead me to maturity and I am increasingly aware how following Your lessons makes each level of life more productive. I pray I never take credit for this growth on my own. Lord, You are the strength I must learn, the kindness I desire, and the love that can change the world. Train me to be a harvester in Your Kingdom, Father.
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7:11
