The weapons we carry are holy. Certainly, they are beyond anything the world can understand. When we stay focused on God and trust His endless promises, we never go to war alone.

The challenges and difficulties in life are like the classes we advance through at school. As we pray and believe our way through each level, we grow in faith and confidence. We develop trust and hone our skills. We serve a Lord who still walks on water. No matter the walls and challenges we face, our job is to believe Him totally! Valleys have unique beauty and when we walk through them in a state of conviction, God walks with us. When He says, “Stop,” to the trouble, we are redeemed. We are blessed. We breathe the sweet air of blessings and our memories of pain and suffering fade.

Waiting on the Lord is a phrase I’ve heard all my life. But, in reality, waiting on the Lord is a skill, total surrender, and a laying down of life and ego. Entrusting God to handle all the turbulent patches is where we overcome worry. Where we stop trying to be our own god.

Belief expands when we steep ourselves in the Word and when we practice trusting God for every need. We believe He will provide food and clothing. We don’t get to manipulate Him by telling Him what food and clothing to provide. He provides and we thank Him and praise Him. Eventually as small and then larger needs are met, our faith grows. Until one day we look at that mountain in our path and we just move it out of the way.

When we read Job’s story in the Word, we all have mixed feelings. We admire his faith and unwavering trust in God but we dread a testing of such magnitude. I pray God will never allow Satan to sift me. I fear my faith could fail me if I faced such gigantic losses.

God sees what we cannot see, and He knows the things that are still to come. When Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, only God knew of the famine that would shake the world in a few years. The millions who survived those seven years of famine would have died without God’s perfect plan. God uses those things to achieve His own goals. He saw that famine coming so He prepared a man who would save Egypt and the surrounding nations and feed the masses.

Father God, Forgive me for being shortsighted at times. Help me develop patience that sees me through times that are hard to understand. Help me wait in absolute faith for Your answers and the revelation of why certain events must happen. Lord, thank You for love that sees around corners, that knows what is hidden in the murky mists. I surrender Lord, to Your grace and Your goodness and love.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
