True Spirituality
This is the challenge! I choose to be more like Christ. If that means two hours or just one hour of conversation with him daily, I will do it. I refuse to allow the world’s fears and prejudices to alter who I am in Christ
I long to be totally committed. I know for me, time spent talking with God is vital. The more often we talk, the longer I linger, the deeper the connection. Once, one time ONLY, I reached a level so sweet I desire to go there again. And yet, so far, I have not disciplined myself to that level of time spent with God. But I will.
God says, “Trust me!” Such a simple command. And so very difficult to master! To tune in to God, we need to tune out the world. Try it for a few days. Television news is torturous. It floods our minds with tragic stories, fear, and unethical principles. Every hour on the hour. Our culture would like to siphon God right out of our lives. Filter the voices you choose to listen to.
Learn to recognize and develop the gift God poured into you. Sadly, people often pursue the gift they want to have. When people operate in their special God given gift there is a huge difference. Pray until you hear what God is saying. We live in an upside-down world where good is called bad and things we’ve always been taught were bad are celebrated. We must stay centered and focused on the Word. All other “truths” come and go. We find confidence and joy once we surrender to God’s provision and His plans.
Dear God, I want to live my life serving You. Because I read the Bible daily, I understand Your goal is the harvest of lost and rebellious souls. We know if You still believe people will run to You, we have no authority to give up and accept that they are lost. Help me pray for the harvest and believe my job is to tell others how much Jesus loves them, and to recognize the sacrifice He made to give them eternal life. Let me walk with a gentle spirit, a loving heart and a willingness to put other’s needs before my own.
‘…how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. Hebrews 2:3
