Make Every Day Count
To increase productivity or impact, a solid prayer life and a determination to obey God helps greatly. Listen intently for His direction. Line upon line, precept upon precept, you will look back in amazement at the changes He creates within you.
God reminds me daily my call is to write. No more procrastinating. Just do it. I love His reminders, how and when He sets them on my path. And I treasure the fact He loves me enough to chase me into obedience!
When we start each day with God, we align our lives with His. The enemy hates that. He likes throwing roadblocks along every road to God’s will. He even uses good things, time with kids, time with family, or vacation getaways. For me, it is endless distractions that keep me away from my computer.
I fight a couple other distractions: iPad and television. The iPad masquerades as a good tool since I use it for Bible studies and writing. Too many hours can slip away while I’m on my iPad.
I choose to choose God! And my call!
The things I worry about almost never happen. My relationships thrive when I believe the best in people. Few people have disappointed me in life. God made wonderful plans for our lives if we will just live in the flow of His grace. When we are tempted by self-pity, we should jump up and do something for someone else.
Lord God, Help me turn my focus away from myself. It is thinking and praying for others that keeps our thoughts more Christ-like. Self focus leads to self obsession. Self obsession results in selfishness. Selfishness cuts us off from God’s blessings. Loving others as we love ourselves is easy once we view others through Your eyes.
33 Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:33-35
