The greatest movement of God will be when He unifies all the denominations, all the people who comprise the Body of Christ, when He convinces His children to lay aside their differences and embrace their shared love for Jesus. When that day comes there will be NO enemy with the power to stand against the Church!

It can be frustrating to be in a conversation with another Christian, discussing a church you’ve visited or a Pastor you heard on YouTube, and the other Chistian begins to point out every detail of that church that does not align with their own church culture. There are approximately 45,000 different Christian denominations throughout the world and human beings have mastered the art of spotting all the differences rather than joining to celebrate their shared love for Jesus Christ. The non-believing world knows if all Christians around the globe ever change the way they view each other, if they would stop searching for reasons to not unite, the church would become an unstoppable force. There is a Scripture that speaks to us being critical of a speck in our neighbor’s eye while ignoring the log in our own eye. Reaching out to other Christians with love and acceptance would be a starting point on a powerful journey of reconciliation.

Father, we ask for tender vision, a willingness to see the similarities in all Christian faiths as we strive to carry out the Great Commission on the earth. Your heart is loving and You see all the denominations with potential to be world changers. United, the many churches have power. Through prayer and shared services, they could touch thousands of people with an attitude of tolerance and love. Unity builds strength and strength builds eternal bonds. Many of the differences we see in other faiths are simply based on tradition. Help us mature to see every church through Your eyes, with Your love and let us trust You so totally we begin to embrace our sameness and let You embrace everything else.

“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? 4How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? 5Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye. Matthew 7:3-5 NLT
