Day by day, moment by moment, when we trust God, our lives are strengthened; our calling fulfilled and our destinies attained. In small things and large. In crisis and reward. In joy and in sorrow. If in the center of our being, we trust God, if we listen for His voice and we know He is family, and our greatest hope, He sustains us. If He says no to a prayer request, it is utter folly to run off in ego or rebellion. Living a God-centered life is freedom. We still have challenges and problems. Those are the areas where we grow. We also have peace, confidence and a historical trust that His love surrounds us.
There is a sad truth some people use God like a four-leaf-clover or a rabbit’s foot. Their prayers are like the seeds that fell among thorns and were soon choked out and gone. We cannot judge God. His earth view is centuries old and universe wide. He sees beyond anything our imagination can picture. He sees tomorrow’s threats, yesterday’s sorrow, and today’s potential. Joy comes when we place our trust in Him and we stop trying to be our own god. Freedom from worry is a peaceful path to walk. Know He is the God of the Angel Army and walking with Him is to walk in trust.
God, I cannot imagine my life without You. Thank you for peace. Thank you I can close my eyes at night, knowing You are near. When I learn and employ the fruits of the Spirit, when I intentionally live by the Ten Commandments, I see the benefits of calm, peace, and happiness. Thank You for showing me I do not have to control everything. Thank you for lifting burdens when they become too heavy. God, help me spread the story of Your son, Jesus, so I can see more families living in laughter and joy. I ask for peace in the world. For Your presence to envelop all those who hurt, are in fear, or have bombs bursting over their heads. Comfort this world and let the power of Your love calm the storms.
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39
