Life is richer when we live with positive expectation. When we walk through every challenge with pure awareness God wants great things for us and the indwelling Holy Spirit speaks warnings, sound advice and a true confidence in all outcomes. The conviction we never walk alone is one of God’s greatest gifts. On those occasions you feel cut off from God, just be still. He is there. He is waiting for you.

I remember reading about those dry spells years ago. Those are the times of need, of worry, times when you don’t hear God’s answers and you think He has left you behind. The article I read said, “God doesn’t leave us. When we can’t find Him, He is not the one who moved.” That was a lesson I needed. I moved! I allowed doubt, fear and worldly logic to steal my greatest source of comfort. We have an enemy whose goal is to kill our relationship with God. John 10:10 says, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” We cannot see this enemy. But his work is evident all around us. Chaos. Division. Financial and relationship losses. God is bigger. God is more powerful. Trust God and walk away from the enemy.

Father, Please help me be more steadfast in my love for You. I know, God, I need to control my thoughts more consistently. When my life is going smoothly, I talk to You every day. I enjoy my time with You and I feel Your love is true and close. When trouble comes, I start to feel alone. I call out to You and I don’t hear Your reply. Forgive me, Lord, for my lack of faith. Your love is my greatest joy. Let my faith burn brighter and stronger in moments of challenge than it burns during times of blessings. You see what I cannot see. Your love embraces me even when I feel I am all alone. Thank you, Lord, for a love that is greater than my doubt.

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT
