Sometimes when we are trying to be obedient to God’s leading, we mistakeably take on His role as our own. Our job is to reflect His love, not try to be the sun. When we submit to God’s plan, we choose His authority. Under His authority, we don’t need our “to do” lists and that eliminates a lot of our criticism and judgement.

Let go and let God be God. He has equipped us with all the skills we need to do the tasks He called us to do. Obedience will reduce stress and free us to follow God’s direction. What if we doubt our ability to hear Him clearly? It’s okay. Do what you think He said. Pray. Ask Him to correct any misunderstandings.

Displaying God’s grace, loving others in the same way we’ve experienced His blessings, is a gift we can give the world. The Bible says we are salt and light. Our attitudes should make people want to have what we have. In strife, we model peace. In fear, we demonstrate courage. In lack, we thrive. For those battling fear, panic and need, we are the only answer they see until they encounter God.

Lord God, Help me hear Your voice clearly. I want to be in Your will, and I want to do exactly what You have called me to do in this world. Help me never overstep Your authority and go my own way. If I have ever taken credit for the blessings You poured into my life, I repent. May I always be enriched by the fruits of the Spirit and may my demonstration in challenging times be an encouragement to all who seek Your tranquility.
