There is something empowering and faith building once we understand God’s plan for the world, His timing. What feels like forever is a moment in His view. But His words, His promises, His plan will always come to fruition. We are blessed to have the Old Testament by which to view God’s promises and words come to pass time after time. No matter how long people waited, how long they thought God would not remember and move, He did. Always.
We’re often reminded we have read the end of the Book (Revelation). And we win. When we watch the world rebel and mock Him, when sin seems to prevail everywhere, we know God will not be mocked. He will always keep His word. The Word reveals many clues about the end times. But Jesus said only God knew exactly when that would occur. Time is finite. Just as God ultimately allowed the rebellious Israelites to be carried off to Babylon, so will He eventually call in His Harvest. He is a merciful Father. He is giving as many opportunities as possible to those who risk rebellion over surrender. Our freedom of choice gives a false sense of confidence to those who willingly reject the message Jesus brought to us.
Believing in Jesus, that He is indeed the Son of God, knowing God has a plan for the world, and believing Jesus died for our sins so redemption and rebirth became possible, sets us free to serve God in a personal way.
Lord God, Time is flying by. Thank You for Your loving patience, a patience that has granted humanity a lot of time to surrender to Your love. Help us understand our part in the End Time Harvest. Help us reach out to family and friends and even strangers who refuse to give their hearts and lives to You.
Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell you what he has done for me. Psalm 66:16
