It is a joy to wake each morning with appreciation. Grateful for the adventures possible in a new day. Anticipating the blessings God has planned for you. So much of life is determined by our attitude instead of what actually happens. If the toast burns or the car has a flat tire as you go out to go to work, your rection will dictate how the rest of the day goes. If you see only the inconvenience, you might better go back to bed. Instead, is the sun shining? Are flowers blooming in the yard and you think a bouquet would look pretty on your desk?
The Word says, “A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful. Luke 1:78. We can’t waste a single day, waiting for our own vision of happiness. We need to stop, thank God for interruptions that cause us to take a closer look at His miracles, and revel in the day we are living.. Trust God for flawless days only as He desires them in our lives. Many times, we’ve realized the things we desire are not as great as we imagined. Wait on God. If we never had interruptions, we might not stop to look for the wonder hidden inside inconvenience. Be grateful when God slows us down.
Father, I am thankful for every new day. Thank You for the times You slow me down so I can see all the gifts You give me. I am grateful for rain, for traffic that keeps me alert, for storms and flat tires and long lines at the grocery store. Thank You for the people I meet in lines, for the smiles I see, and the life and love we all share. Help me to be grateful and to let others know how blessed we are as we experience life in the beautiful world You created.
“Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, my Father has blessed you! Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.” Matthew 25:34
