Prayer Blesses Others

I lift my family members in prayer daily.  These are challenging times.  In my state, the police seem to have been stripped of authority.  They work with watered down regulations that favor the lawless.  Every morning, the news is shocking.  The world has turned violent and frightening with daily explosions, shootings, terrorists, road rage and every form of violence.  We often record the first three or four minutes of every broadcast, just so people in other states will believe how pro-criminal Seattle has become. 

I know God’s hand protects His People when we wear His armor and trust Him for our safety. We are called to walk through the battlefield, praying for everyone, knowing God is in complete control of the chaos and confident we will win because we’ve read the end of the Book.

Ice Chips Candy has suffered catastrophic problems.  I prayed for turnaround. I prayed for rescue. I prayed we would survive without a paycheck.  I cried out to God.  In the end, He carried us through the darkest of times.  He’s still carrying us as I write this.   

God blesses us when we hand Him our problems.  There is joy and peace in daily prayer.  When we say ‘Hallowed be Your name.’   Hallowed means to hold sacred. I like that definition. To hold sacred, I can understand. Praying 24/7 seems doable in the sense God is as close as my breath, as near as the news on tv, and the only hope we can count on every day.  When I watch the news, or hear a troubling phone call or just walk about in this world, God and I speak often!

Pray for the lost, the hungry, the suffering and the sick.  But pray for your friends and family, too.  I have had people say prayer is selfish when we ask God to keep us safe, well, and blessed.  If you think it is selfish, you should pray!  

 Forgiving ourselves, feeling worthy, is the tough call. We’re more likely to forgive others.  There is nothing we have done that is greater than God’s love!  Approach Him with confidence, gratitude and joy. He loves you! He approves of you!

Father God, I am so grateful for Your love and Grace.  When You loved me into life with You, I was lost in doubt, guilt and shame.  Now that I understand Your love, now that I have been taught to see myself as You see me, I trust every promise You have made to me.  I thank You for eternity, blessings, protection, Salvation and the right You gave me to pray and to live in the shelter of Your love.  Help me to love others with this same grace and devotion.

And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus.  Ephesians 3:6
