When we are angry, contrary or judgmental, we expose our life wounds, and the pain they have inflicted, to Jesus. God sees our suffering, and He longs to touch us, quiet us and heal us in that moment. Listen to Him, submit to Him, and allow His healing balm to wash away the pains we have tried so hard to hide.

Others see anger. They see our judgement and they feel our criticism. Truthfully, they stay out of our way as much as they can. God’s heart is to heal us, to cover those old injuries with His approval and understanding. He knows about rejection, selfishness, and addiction. He knows the things that plagued our parents, causing them to fall short with us. These flaws are called familiar spirits, and they can plow through families for generations. We can overcome these emotions. Give every wound to God. Forgive those who caused the pain and trust they did their best as they dealt with their own issues. Loving others is the perfect way to find victory over anger and bad memories.

Lord God, You are the great healer. You know I long to be more kind, more obedient and more like Jesus. I make promises. I pray. I practice smiling and warm wishes. And then, Lord, it can be the smallest thing that makes me angry. I know it is not for lack of prayer or good intentions. Help my focus stay fixed on You, Lord. Help me care more about loving others than remembering my old wounds. Thank you, for healing and miracles and for tender mercies.

I’ve told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you’ll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
