Living the Dream
The Word says we’ve all been given a measure of faith, small as a mustard seed. It’s one thing to have a measure of faith and quite another to use it. The more we trust God to do what He says He will do and to keep every promise He has made, the more we will see the power of faith produce answers in our lives. We pray and believe God CAN do what we’ve asked. But WILL He? That challenges us. Trust God. He is a loving father.
We take God at His Word. He is advocate, counselor, protector and of course, Loving Father. It’s easy to go all human and make it complicated. Don't. Just trust, accept His gift and be His child. Understanding His level of love enables us to walk in joy and confidence, knowing beyond any doubt we serve the God of the universe.
Once we grasp His divinity, it is easy to overreach and think we know it all. I have learned, forgotten and relearned basic principles repeatedly. The world plays with our emotions. Strong Christians know God’s Power in their lives. Submitting to God, trusting the Holy Spirit and loving Jesus every moment of the day bonds us closer to the Father than we could ever get on our own.
How miraculous and undeserved is God’s Grace?! He does not give up on us. Ever. We question the unquestionable. We play footsy with the world. One foot in and one foot out. We dangle our toes in worldly glitter. We know God. We know what He requires. But when we see the glamor, hear the world’s music, we dance. Just a little. And God, even though we break His heart, welcomes us when we return.
The world glorifies injustice. It celebrates division. When we see it, we instinctively recoil. Our God is just and fair. He waits patiently for His children to seek redemption. But in the end, ALL of God’s promises are kept. Trust Him. Remain patient and feel His incredible love.
Dear Lord, I need help with my focus. Sometimes the noise of the world drowns out Your promises and all I have learned from You. You lead me to places of serenity. You strengthen my resolve and You ignite my affection for others. Thank You for awakening me every day with a desire to spread the name of Jesus far and wide, to see families flourish under Your tender care.
Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. Psalm 40:11
