Every surrender to God looks different. Because we’re all individual, we come with histories, encounters and circumstances that meld into unique personalities. God sends us to the world equipped with a call and a purpose. Once we discover that talent, we are to press into it, hear and obey God’s prompting and follow our destiny.

It is a miracle that we can all do far more than we think we can. Most people know what their interests and giftings are. God helps by placing the people we need and the tools we must have in front of us. He prompts. He leads. He helps us understand life has purpose, the Kingdom of God needs us, and we are literally equipped to succeed beyond our wildest imagination.

I think how often I stop these days, surrendering to age or weakness. In those moments, I understand I am meant to trust God’s word is true. I am to focus past the pain and allow God’s healing grace to prevail.

Persevere! No matter what. Obstacles are stepping stones to greatness. Press on. Focus on the goal and never give up.

Father, I repent for giving up on myself because I hurt. I love the stories I read about heroes who walk through pain and hunger and physical challenges. I remember reading about the little girl who saw the vision that would eventually lead to the healing pools in Lourdes. She lived her life in a convent and spent her last years in extreme pain. Yet she never complained. Paul said he suffered a handicap. Mother Teresa, too. Great stories of people who loved You so dearly they could serve You while suffering. Help me understand working for You is an honor and a joy.

If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 2 Corinthians 1:6
