In Romans 11:29, we read, “for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.” God chooses who He chooses. And when we see who is lifted up and who is brought down, we don’t always understand. God reminds us that is because we judge a book by its cover and He inspects the heart. We need to trust everyone God sets in power.
When we use human logic to try to understand God’s thinking, without first knowing God, understanding His love, His righteousness and His purity, we will fail. There are many ways to mature and develop as Christians: read the Word, participate in Bible studies and hook up with a Bible believing church. Spiritual strength is imperative.
Good training leads us to understand God can be trusted. He keeps His word. Always. No matter how long it takes, no matter if we lose faith and hope, He is faithful. His time is not our time. And when it is His time, every word and promise He has made to us will come to pass.
Peace comes when we learn to walk by faith. We see from an earthly view. God’s view is deep and wide. What looks dreadful on the surface might be like Joseph’s situation. He was sold into slavery and betrayed by his brothers, but God was preparing him to save millions of lives during a coming famine.
Human life is filled with temptation. For power. For possessions. For position. The Ten Commandments are set before us to guide us away from temptation and to show us how to live God’s way! Follow God and determine we won’t stand between our ambition and God’s divine plan for our lives.
Oh Father God, Please help me find the teachings You know I need to learn in order to follow Your call on my life. Lead me to a church where I’ll find the people, the lessons, and the wisdom I need. May I never seek shortcuts or a way around the work I need to perform to be trained in Your ways.
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10
