Many times in my life, I have been asked to wait upon the Lord. Whether it is the Salvation of a child, a safe outcome to a scary situation, or something as ordinary as a college acceptance or a job application, we tend to run to God with the many desires of our hearts. For decades, I have whole-heartedly believed God loves me, He wants the best for me, and He will keep each promise He has spoken over my life. I relate to this because the Word says God loves us just as we love our children here on earth. We can all identify with this relationship. If we had a good earthly father, we will instantly expect a protective and loving heavenly Father. If our earthly father lacked empathy, love and affection, we will be wary until God lovingly shows us His goodness and teaches us how to trust Him.
I trust God in all things. It is comforting to hand the long waits and the tension over to Him. God promises we all have a measure of Mustard seed faith, more than enough to wait out every promise He has given us. We understand God equips us with everything we need: faith, endurance, and a deep need to spend time with Him. He has our backs, and He walks with us until every word He has spoken over us comes to pass.
With this level of faith we walk protected through every fire and storm. Nothing, not finances, health, education or any other thing can defeat us. We may lose some worldly battles, but we will be safe with God.
Dear God, Thank You for walking with me. I am grateful You oversee and protect my spiritual life. In the end, You have shown me the shiny and sparkling things the world offers are not the things that provide eternal life. Your path, Your quiet waters, Your tender wisdom, are the places where life and the Fruits of the Spirit are found. Help me know, no matter how long I wait on Your timing, Your path is the only path I need as I seek to serve You and know You more deeply.
A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you. Psalm 91:7
