Certainty in Times of Uncertainty
We do best when we focus our days, our hours, on the things of God. The big news stories are unavoidable. Repeated endlessly. So not listening to television news does not leave us uninformed. When our hearts and minds are focused on God, He will inform us of the things we need to hear. By so doing, we keep a positive outlook and a heart filled with trust.
Over and over we are shown that faith, trust and a focus on God will keep us safe through life’s journey. We do not look left or right. Left and right is the world, the lure, the pull, the attractive trouble. Straight ahead is wisdom. A God focus preserves our destiny and our sweet sweet relationship with our Father and His tender love for us.
In the midst of chaos and madness, in a time when untruth has world respect and God is condemned and blamed at every turn, trust God! He fulfills every promise, His love for us is without remorse, His great love is higher, wider, deeper than anything the enemy possesses and He is not a man that He should lie. Trust in every word in the Bible. Trust in the impossible and magnificent Truth.
Quitting is disrespected in the Christian world and the secular world. Don’t quit. That can close every door you seek. Trust God, forge ahead and watch God open every door that matters! I wonder when and if, God’s call for my life, His strong love for me to accomplish what I was designed to accomplish, will wane. I don’t believe it ever will. It just feels as if, when we age, we might get released. But even when we grow tired, we need to persevere. Like Solomon wrote, ‘it feels like smoke, like spitting into the wind.’
Dear God, Please help me stay the course. Help me to never quit. Let me die with my fingers typing one last testimony, reaching one more crying soul whose hand is grasping for Yours. Humanity has lived through the chaos of many “bad times.” World War II. Many others. When I see movies like Braveheart. I do not see a Hollywood story. I see history. I see man’s inhumanity to man. Lord God, help me survive the evening news which will become the new history. Please touch our hearts with Your love. Help us always choose love.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 Timothy 3:1
