God wants us to walk and talk and be relational with Him. He is a true Father. The more time we spend with God, the more we expand and grow in His light. Like all relationships, this requires consistency and devotion. It’s not just when we pray. God’s majesty is seen from many angles and His love for the world reflects all He created for us: the views we see of mountains and valleys, oceans and quiet ponds, sunsets and sunrises splashed across His heavenly pallet.
Revelation is often given when we read the Word. Sometimes it feels so personal, as if God wants to make certain we understand Scripture. Music. Paintings. One time I stood at the beautiful fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The song was Andre Bocelli’s Time To Say Goodbye. So much talent and beauty. I wept at the wonder, wanting to stay enveloped in music, dancing waters and God’s gift of creative splendor. In the middle of crowded Las Vegas, I was swept up in a moment if praise and worship.
Dear God, I thank you for Your ever-flowing gifts. I love that You take our breath away with beauty. I love the trees, the botanicals, plants that heal and food that sustains. I am grateful You allow us to draw close to you, to share feeling loved, safe, and creative in the midst of feeling included as Your child. Help me always see and feel and be aware You spread life before us as a feast that feeds our souls.
“Therefore, we must be thankful that we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Because we are thankful, we must serve God with fear and awe in a way that pleases him.” Hebrews 12:28 GW
