Life is discipline. Preparation is the advantage we control. College prepares us for a career. Meditation and patience prepare us to give the best of ourselves to a job, a class and even parenthood. God is gracious and prepares us to understand discipline. He trains us through prayer, reading the Word and through following the path of Jesus. Of course we can ignore Him. We can choose not to prepare and we then live a Plan B lifestyle. Not the life God designed for us. When we choose to stay busy in the world, not setting aside a private and precious time with God, we miss the time He had planned for us to be together. We miss that peace He pours into us; we miss the palpable touch of His love, and we miss the tender words He speaks that lead us to our destiny. The loss is great. Too great to miss.

As we move on from the beautiful Easter experience, it is time to focus on the powers God has gifted us to use. There is a Harvest coming. There are people crying out to God, wanting to believe. They’re also being lured by the world and an agenda to eliminate God from schools, money, and any institutional connection.

So what do we do with all this Easter energy and compulsion? The grave clothes are folded. Jesus doesn’t need them anymore. He is seated in Heaven and He is assuredly about His Father’s business. Do not let go of Him now. He left us the Helper. The Holy Spirit urges us ever forward in faith. Sure, evangelism is hard work. Training yourself in your talents and skills takes time and effort. Give your best to God. Jesus gave His life.

God, Thank you so much for Easter. Thank you that every Scripture in Isaiah caught fire when the enemy missed his mark. If he thought he defeated Jesus at the cross, he didn’t have to wait long to see how our God turned each detail around. The stone has rolled away. Jesus was spotted on the Road to Emmaus. The Gospels and the Word have touched hearts and changed lives for centuries. We praise you, God, that Your every promise and warning has proved true. Help us stand up and do everything You've called us to do as these promised times come into view..

Don’t you say, ‘In four more months the harvest will be here’? I’m telling you to look and see that the fields are ready to be harvested. John 4:35
