Fear is a choice. The moment we feel fear clambering for control we need to turn to Jesus. Fear is not our gift. Peace, faith and joy, those are the gifts Jesus left to us. Never back slide into fear. Claim the peace and faith you have been given! When I get up in the morning, I say hello to Jesus and ask Him to show me what He wants from me that day. I remind myself we’ll walk together, whatever the day holds.

Fear is a waste of time. I once took a class where we were told to write down the top ten fears that had troubled us over a period of years. Stranger danger, financial woes, health issues, relationship failures and death dominated every list that was shared. Next, we were asked to write down all those fears that actually came into our lives. With a few minor exceptions, not a single fear we’d spent time worrying about, had actually happened to anyone in the class. Statistically, worry is a pointless waste of time.

Jesus loved to heal people, teach them, and offer a pathway to peace. In John 14:27, He says, “I’m leaving you peace. I’m giving you my peace. I don’t give you the kind of peace that the world gives. So don’t be troubled or cowardly.” Take Him at His word. He wants us to be free from worry so we can achieve the highest benefits from our time. Give Him all your fears. Rest. Relax. Jesus has your back.

Dear Lord, Thank You for dealing with fear issues before I even start to worry. I am sorry for the times I’ve tried to get in front of You, tried to second guess You and for the times I thought I had to save myself from the things You already handled. Lord, thank You for Your sacrifice on the Cross, for taking on Yourself all the guilt and worry and shame I deserved. You are my healer and the lifter of my head. You make me realize I am strong enough to walk with You through any situation we will face.

No fear exists where his love is. Rather, perfect love gets rid of fear, because fear involves punishment. The person who lives in fear doesn’t have perfect love. 1 John 4:18
