No matter how long it takes in “God time,” God always moves. Seasons end one way or another, new lessons begin and God is still training and touching us. Why do we have to endure hard seasons? Because that is where the growth resides. Imagine if we never had to stretch our faith. If everything we wanted just appeared around the next bend. That kind of life leads us to think we are the creators of our own destinies. It’s an easy jump from being blessed to deciding we created our own favor.
When we enter a lesson season, always ask God what He wants us to learn from the experience. Perhaps we have drifted away from our fruits of the Spirit, not being patient or empathetic. Humility is helpful in these trials. You are a child of God and He is showing great love.
Dear God, Thank You for correction. Thank You for reminding me when I have lost focus on the things You have called me to do. Help me grow in passion and service, Father. I long to be a part of the Great Commission, to wade into the Harvest of Your people, telling others of Your love, of the sacrifice Jesus made, and the goals You have for all of us. Thank You for the many times Your blessings flowed through my life. May I always appreciate every lesson You bring.
We don’t enjoy being disciplined. It always seems to cause more pain than joy. But later on, those who learn from that discipline have peace that comes from doing what is right. Hebrews 12:11
