In the bucolic 50s, America wanted peace. We’d been through two World Wars; we cherished home life. We believed in order and rule. The Korean Conflict threatened to keep us fighting but we assuredly wanted peace. Our country is different today. Many young adults (and a few not so young) have little wartime memory. They have forgotten the Stars in the windows where families lost a soldier or a pilot.

Oblivious to the blessings America has given them, a contingency of people hates America and aligns with the opposition. They choose to support and offer sanctuary to the people we are trying to force to seek legal entry to our country. Their rage and revulsion is reserved for men and women working for ICE, Federal officers working to protect our borders. This shunning of law and order has led to a complete breakdown in the rule of law. We have mobs of 18-60 people, wearing black clothing and masks, charging into jewelry stores, tool centers, shops of every kind, walking out with tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of goods.

Reading the Word, we understand the end days will come. The things we see today are prophetic. God will not be mocked. Get involved. The world needs our God stories, our testimonies, our evidence of hope, love and peace. We watch the world writhe in anger and strident chaos. Let us offer them the peace they covet.

Lord Jesus, Help us be a voice of reason in an America that feels lost in the trenches of conflict and division. Some things people want to see changed should be debated and navigated. Others are absurd and should be viewed with skepticism. Logic has gone out the window and we took too long to see these people weren’t joking. We pray for division to end, love to return, and peace to prevail.
