Sometimes I think sinners like me, the ones Jesus Himself chases down, stops in their tracks, will not let them go, are the lucky ones. Those raised in the faith, those who never followed the world, are not as grateful at times as those Jesus plucks off the edge of the cliff and holds to His very breast. We are the ones who looked the enemy straight in the eye and saw near calamity.
When we come to God with a past, it can feel as if we are playing catch-up or not-good-enough for a very long time. But eventually we come to believe God knows our past, has forgiven us and He rejoices along with all Heaven that we have surrendered to His love.
God’s timing is perfect. That means He may have watched you go through the training and experience because of a specific person He believes you have the words to save. Never regret where you walked before you walked with God. Every event you experienced can be used by God for His purposes. You are unique and designed to fit into the Body of Christ with perfect preparedness.
Father, I know you know all the steps of my life. You have witnessed my rebellion, my mistakes, and the times I chose my own path rather than following You. My heart dances when I realize You were with me all those times and You were calculating how powerful my testimony would be once I surrendered into Your grace. I thank you that you have protected my memory from the things I have seen and you have forgiven every misstep. I ask God for You to use the things I’ve learned, the empathy and mercy I have gained as a mighty tool in the Harvest that is waiting to be brought to the storehouse soon.
