Wake Me Before I Get Woke!

All my life, at least since college, I have sensed the questionable agenda of the Liberal Left. My mistake was in thinking they were out of step and far beyond the reach of logical Patriotic Americans. My college years, I encountered an eclectic array of Communists, Socialists, Soldier of Fortune wannabes, and people who simply dreamed of a peaceful Utopia. Some of them made a weird kind of sense, seeming more idealistic than evil.

I guess that was before they got Woke. Woke has come to mean embracing philosophies devoid of any morality, boundaries and a celebration of rebellious and perverted character. And this is defined as an attribute by the media and the far Left.

I can defend this assertion. My State, Washington State, has approved a level of sex education that includes informing five-year-old Kindergartners they have many options when it comes to gender.  Five year olds! When I was five, I knew there were boys and girls. My Dad was a boy. My Mom was a girl. Beyond that, I had no curiosity.

I remember my Grandmother telling me if I could kiss my elbow, I would turn into a boy.  Five-year-olds are so malleable I believed her. Because my brother had more privileges than I had, I tried valiantly to kiss my elbow, oblivious to the face he was four years older than me. Kindergartners are gullible. They believe what they are told. They make decisions based on what they want at the moment. Some would agree to changing their gender for a Hershey bar. It is illogical to offer gender options to people who would trade a BMW for a kitten.

Today’s children are struggling with many challenges brought on by the ill-thought-out decisions made during the Covid phenomenon. Think about it, in one fell swoop by the government, children lost all benefits of a social life, competition, friends, adult contact beyond their families and the blissful feelings of routine and normalcy.

And the reaction to that from our Woke friends is to offer them information and permission to go for a gender change. Seriously?  What are they thinking? To protect themselves the State will tell you sex education is not required in grades K-3. But if a district chooses to be fully Woke and on board, sex education can be taught.

Most people fighting it were kept out of Chambers and sequestered in remote locations. They had no opportunity for input even though many spent weeks in research and presentation plans.

I think if this was all our Woke friends wanted for America, we could fight them in the Courts or put our children in private schools. Phenomenal changes have happened in our culture. Abortion, once restricted to a 12 week limit, now allows the outright murder of infants up until their birth date in a few states.

Being Woke means a lot more than this
