Destiny
I decided to talk about destiny because life has shown me so many people duck their destiny or:
Try to hide from God
This often involves staying very busy doing anything but what God has called them to do
I know God has called me to write. But He also gave me a prophetic spirit, and I often get a Word for someone, but I rarely give it out of feelings of insecurity.
Pretend they have no idea what God has called them to do
This is common. People will swear they cannot hear, know or recognize God’s voice and they have no idea what He has called them to do.
They will ask others what they think and often others see the call. But the requester rejects their opinion.
Play the Impostor card and literally freeze up
This often involves rejecting the thing they have felt called to do, the thing they love, the thing they have seen themselves actively doing since they were a child.
Often if we watch a child we will see the direction they are called to, the thing they are passionate about, around the time they are 8 years old.
Procrastinate
This is the self-delusion they are going to do God’s will someday.
Procrastination is a dream killer and a great disobedience!
Blame all God’s calling to them on their own imagination
This is another form of the Imposter Syndrome. If it’s your imagination it cannot be God and needs to be disregarded as arrogance or conceit
False humility
They say, “I could never do that! I can’t speak in public. God would never ask me to step outside my comfort zone.” Let me tell you, God asks us to step out of our comfort zone every single day if we are obedient.
Over the top exaggeration
When I get time I am going to write a Christian book that will change the world. God has given me all these words for everyone else!
Fake a different destiny “from God”
This one involves throwing all your time and energy into a “good” activity for the church even though you know it isn’t the “real” thing God has called you to do.
Good activities benefit many. They only harm the person who is performing them to avoid obedience
Say they have no time!
No time is a fall back excuse. We all find time to do what we really want to do. There is huge truth in realizing we will buy, spend time with and give our talent and energy to the thing we really want. People who have no money always find enough to fund their addictions. It’s just another form of hiding from destiny.
Leave the church because God won’t stop calling to them
This one makes me laugh. As if God can’t find them in a club or a ball game or a theater. When God decides to chase us, we might as well sit down and talk with Him. He can be relentless in His love.
To truly hear God’s will and call for you;
Pray!
An active and consistent prayer life enhances your friendship to God
This is how and where we learn His voice and we recognize His love
Ask God to be direct and trust Him to keep His Word
God will keep His Word at all times! If we really do not know what we are called to do in Kingdom life, He will reveal it.
Read the Bible
A lot. I have read through the entire Bible in many translations and many times. The past two years I have also chosen to concentrate on Bible studies and Devotionals.
No matter how many times I have read the Bible there is never a time when I study the Word, I don’t find new revelation, new answers and new spiritual energy
Pray some more
Pray for others. Pray for the world. Pray more and then some more
There is a difference between our occupation and the call and talent God has placed on your life as a call for the Body of Christ. Often we are required to do both. A job and a divine calling.

It’s time to discover your call and march forward, operating in your gifts and blessing others.
