We are repeatedly shown that faith, trust and a focus on God will keep us safe through life’s journey. We do not look left or right. Because left and right are where the world, the lure, the pull, and the attractive trouble lie. Straight ahead is wisdom. A God focus preserves our destiny and our sweet relationship with our Father and His tender love for us.
There is no denying the world is seductive. Fashion, cars, huge and lovely homes, technology that shimmers with wonder and stimulating information. Of course we like it. It also presents a dark side, controversy, anonymity, plus the opportunity to bicker and criticize. It offers pornography, guilt free and private. Many people get lost in all the wrong things technology presents. That is when daily encounters with God will keep us safe. It’s how we stay focused on our call, our goals and our purpose. Sin has always been available. We are expected to take every thought captive. We can’t hide from God. We do not want to fall down this rabbit hole.
Lord God, we know the Internet presents many temptations. Even if we stay away from the obvious sin, crime and trouble it offers, we can still use it to avoid life responsibilities. It consumes time, talent and can destroy relationships. Help us, God, to utilize the positive aspects of the Internet while monitoring the time and the obsession that can take over our lives.
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
